Erica Ammerman is a multi-hyphenate theatre artist and New Jersey native, currently based in Los Angeles. She is graduating with a BA in Theatre and a Minor in Dance from the University of Southern California’s School of Dramatic Arts and Glorya Kaufman International School of Dance, respectively. Her love for telling stories began when she was four years old: the very moment that she put on her first pair of tap shoes. Since then, she has taken every opportunity she could to make art. In her time at USC, she has crafted her love for lighting design, while also discovering a new love for production management. Throughout the past four years, she’s been able to design for many different genres of theatre, various seating arrangements, musicals, and dance. In tandem with design, Erica has an undying love for student theatre. During her time at USC, Erica has been involved in over ten student run productions, along with her mainstage designs, in many different roles: designer, assistant, director, actor, choreographer, production electrician, and most often, production manager.

As she continues to grow as a young designer, she always aims to always keep the bigger picture in mind. She strongly believes that when telling stories, community is vital. Collaboration is the greatest gift that theatre can give artists, which is why leading with compassion, empathy, and love is always at the forefront of her work. Erica always ensures that the integrity of the story along with the integrity of all of the artists in the room are honored.

Along with lighting design and production management, Erica hopes to continue to pursue tap dancing in this next chapter of her life. She hopes to bring together her passions for design and tap dancing as often as she can and continue to tell stories with compassion and joy.
